Though not exactly near Cherry, I had a cache placed by Horsethief Basin Lake, closer to Crown King (GCT82B). It stayed around for about a year and finally went AWOL. I didn't really have a proper container for the area on my first visit so I placed a micro. Placing it was a bit of a challenge both in reaching the site, and in having it approved. At the time we had a property near Prescott and were in the "area" several times a year. I did have to convince the local approver I could visit the cache when needed. When we sold the property in Prescott and the cache went DNF after so few visits, I disabled it. This is a great area to explore and needs more caches IMHO. I think this lake deserves a cache. The road access had an ATV restriction back then. az_pistolero http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=d8497d80-9e47-40c1-8f38-7f1c18811b9c On May 20, 2008, at 2:50 PM, ShadowAce wrote: > Yeah I agree > > 79 caches within 10 miles is pretty much a definition of NO Caches! > (-?-) > > one of them is nothing but DNFs since Dec 2007 (I guess they just > needed to drop a nonmaintainable cache) > Another disabled since March > a few with 4 or more DNFs in a row > > http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?lat_ns=1&lat_h=34&lat_mmss=35.566&long_ew=-1&long_h=111&long_mmss=57.855&dist=10&submit8=Search > > Maybe you searched for a different Cherry Az then I did? > > > On Tue, May 20, 2008 at 12:20 PM, Eric Wall > wrote: > taking a road trip this weekend to Cherry, and beyond.. on up Goat > Peak Trail to Mingus.... > does anyone have any idea WHY there are no caches in that area? > seems like all around Cherry is a Void. > I may be putting a few new ones in the area!!! > ____________________________________________________________ > Az-Geocaching mailing list listserv@azgeocaching.com > To edit your setting, subscribe or unsubscribe visit: > http://listserv.azgeocaching.com/mailman/listinfo/az-geocaching > > Arizona's Geocaching Resource > http://www.azgeocaching.com > > ____________________________________________________________ > Az-Geocaching mailing list listserv@azgeocaching.com > To edit your setting, subscribe or unsubscribe visit: > http://listserv.azgeocaching.com/mailman/listinfo/az-geocaching > > Arizona's Geocaching Resource > http://www.azgeocaching.com
