The peavine trail is the old Sante Fe Railroad right-of-way which was converted into a non-motorized public trail.

The views from the Peavine trail are fantastic, including Watson Lake and spectacular granite formations.

It is particularly cold on this January afternoon; in a few hours snow will fall from the sky. Much of the snow is melted the next day.

Directions: From Prescott, take Arizona 89 north. Turn Right onto Prescott Lakes Parkway. Take your first left, Sundog Ranch Road, near the humane society. Look for a sign to your left designating the parking area.

A hike down the Peavine Trail will get a bunch of caches.  Both beautiful area, easy hike on level land in the city limits of Prescott.  Can’t get lost and there will be others on that path.

Good Morning Everyone. First I want to say thank you to all the people that post on this list.  It is really neat to watch the different topics and learn so much from all of you.  I don't get to do as much cacheing as I would like, but hopfully that will soon be changing.

Here's my question.  I will be in Prescott this coming Saturday.  I need to drop off my daughter at Girl Scout camp and will have a free day to do anything.  What a better way then to spend it cacheing!!  Can anyone give me advice on ones to do or NOT to do?  I will be by myself so going through the woods by myself might not be too much of a plan LOL  I wouldn't want to have to be rescued for not returning!!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Debbie
