After viewing the video, I've concluded it was a nano cache hidden within the merchandise of the store.  That is the only reason I can conclude the young man was very intently yet stealthfully examining the merchandise the young lady was bringing him.

Apparently, he was going for a FTF, but the cache was attached to the merchandise.  He forgot his pen so he was going to try to take the cache to his car to prevent other cachers from signing the log before he did.
