Not to add fuel to the fire...But, shouldn't we remember this is a game?  A kinda silly one, at that!  Seriously think a private email could/would straighten this out. Meanwhile, keep the caches coming.

Regan,

Re: Why I am thinking of public retirement.

Team Doink must be new to Geocaching.    It sounds like this team felt that you didn't actually find the cache yourself...so they pulled your plug on the find.  Maybe you should just reword your log entry, stating that you found the cache and signed the log.

Maybe instead of you "thinking of a public retirement" for yourself, it sounds as if a public flogging of Team Doink is more in order!

Yeah the direct mailing I got is what I gave them and I in no way gave any information as to the true nature of this cache.

But now I don't care.

Which would be a fake small cactus buried atop a tube some feet East of the large cactus which the GPS points to.

I'm assuming your name is on the logsheet? Perhaps there was something in your online log that the owners felt was too revealing? I think some direct communication with THEM would get you an answer...

Pulled up to the cache site we began our search, I was on the phone
when RTW
found the cache so knew what type of cache I was looking
for and still made
one round trip, then spotted the cache......
