That's just it.  I have yet to field test one, but the new X series has a new receiver system that is supposed to blow away what is already out there for Garmin at least.  The prices on these will drop soon, I'm sure, to something close to the price of the non-X 60 series, as the prices on those have dropped a solid $50 already.

Hey Scott,

I see your name has been changed in your e-mail to Cowboy Wind.  Would you like me to ship you some Bean-O?

I have to agree with you Paul.  I find Magellan more sensitive therefore more stable under cover and in canyons.  Mapsource topo is superior to Mapsend.  I started with a couple Garmins dropped both seriously damaging the displays and through circumstances (couldn't find another Garmin in that part of Maine) bought a Magellan which has proven superior as a receiver at less cost.   Take cover Hawk, we have shook the zealot tree!

Well..... I don't know about that. I own both a Magellan Gold (good for
600+ finds) and a 60CS. I find that the 60 CS is far more 'twitchy'
(bouncing all over) than the gold. As for getting you there they are
both good. This is the second 60CS as the backlight went out of the
first and was replaced under warranty. Both displayed the 'twitchyness'.
