Yeah, but I really don't think it will. On the other hand, you shouldn't tease us about your pleasant temperatures (while we BAKE @ 100+ )  if you don't expect to pay later.

You know you’re going to feel miserable if that ends up happening.  J  At least I bought a beefy snow blower not long ago, so my driveway/sidewalks will at least be clear of snow.  Depending on the consistency of the snow, I can plow through a couple feet of accumulation pretty easily.

I hope you get snowed in for three weeks this winter.
Oh, yeah. And the power is out the whole time, too!

Yes. That is what I was trying to say.

Without buying new mapping software, you can’t exactly switch brands and have the same featureset from one vs the other.  The mapping software is proprietary for each manufacturer out there.

Don't forget that you will probably need at least one software (mapping) program to get the best use out of whatever unit you buy. I think (and can tell you that it certainly true for me) that once you invest in the software, it is very difficult to switch brands.

Thank you everyone for all the input re: buying my first GPS. I've been scouring the net and getting a good idea of prices and accessories and learning about the bells and whistles. Now all I have to do is plunk down the $ and I'm ready to start. My husband and I ride motorcycles everywhere and we've seen some really great places to hide a cache. Can't wait:) Again, thanks.
