Ø Where and when is the National Public Lands Day being held?
“Where” is all over the country, but the Phoenix event details follow:
Saturday, September 24
NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS 2005 OUTDOOR RECREATION/DEDICATION OF NORTH MOUNTAIN
VISITOR CENTER-- Free family fun at the newly built North Mountain Visitor Center,
12950 North 7th St. The festival will offer participants the chance to see live
raptors and other critters up close; take a guided hike; scale an outdoor rock
climbing wall; enjoy dozens of informational displays and demonstrations;
attend outdoor awareness workshops; buy custom maps and much more. Many of the
displays and activities are geared toward children, making the event a perfect
family outing. Over 50 public land & outdoor agencies. 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Volunteer
trail project 7-9 a.m. Additional parking is available
across the street at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs and the Western Saddle
Company. Shuttles will be available for those needing assistance. To register
