I have "ripped" about 20 CDs so far.  That means converting them from CD format to the format the iPod uses.

 

I have about 220 songs and that accounts for about 1GB.  My capacity is 6GB so I can handle about 100 - 120 CDs and maybe 1500 songs. 

 

Just like with any device you have EVER owned with either memory or hard drive space, whatever you buy today you'll wish you had more later!
