I think that the article was pretty kind to geocaching. they did not mention that went the owner were contacted about removing the caches they made them member only  in order to hide them from the land managers ect.  
We will be known by the tracks we leave behind

WTF!  Since when has geocaching encoraged anyone to use a motorized
vehicle to find a cache?!?

I tend to agree with the rest of the article... shame on the sign
ignoring people....
