Should read this...this guy has a pretty good idea. In theory this may work,
but once again you have to have people that are WILLING to do this.
 
This may succeed since it would provide a long lasting effect on two
industry leader's bottom lines. How long can those two company's hold out
until they decide to start dropping prices? My guess is not much more than 3
to 6 weeks.
 
The public not buying gas for one day does nothing as mentioned below, but
this could make a difference if everyone follows through with this.
