Brian,

You had mentioned that you heard ricocheting.  Were the individuals shooting up toward you?  What did they say they were shooting at?  I was impressed to read that the MCSO got there in five minutes!

As I noted yesterday, my trips out there have been pretty calm.  The most unusual thing that I found out there was finding a stolen car.  I found it stripped and driven off the embankment at the area you, Jake and I had parked while looking for "Looney Tunes."  I called it in to the MCSO and they told me it had been stolen from Mesa two days earlier.  I gave them the coordinates and they told me they would have "Search and Rescue" check it out.

The entrance I was entering on this day was the Usery Pass entrance.  From the trailhead, the shooters were tucked in a little ravine about .25-.27 miles in from the road.  From the cache itself, I was about 450ft.

I haven't lost my mind.  It's backed up on disk somewhere.
