I don't peddle products unless I feel strongly about them, and this is one of those cases. I have been using the Rayovac rechargeable batteries for years. I use them in my digital camera, cordless mouse, GPS unit, portable mp3 player, and basically anything else that needs a battery. I have used both the Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and the Alkaline ones. I prefer the NiMH rechargeables to anything else.

If you use a lot of nerdy tech toys like I do, I strongly suggest investing in a rechargeable battery system. You will start saving money very quickly, like after the second or third charge. And in five years, I have not yet had to toss out any of my rechargeable batteries. Compare that to the cost of buying new Energizers each time, and you're talking hundreds of dollars! And to top it off, I have found that my rechargeables last longer than normal batteries.

However, if your only "toy" is a GPS unit, and you only go out once a month or so, then you may not see the value in rechargeables, because you may only be buying batteries once every two years or so. But for me, there's just no choice. In my situation, I can't think of any reason NOT to go rechargeable.

Hope this helps ya out.

Subject: [Az-Geocaching] batteries are they worth it?

After getting near a few caches and getting pointed in the general direction of the cache we at Team Evil Fish were able to log a find, but after getting the satellite kicked out of us and me on two cache attempts I came to the realization that my sight really needs checked, I blame the batteries..

Allright I finally broke down and reinvested in new batteries, bought the Energizer MAX was that a good choice? there was talk about Re-chargeable ones but what brands and types of AA do you all prefer??

thanks in advance
