wow sorry to hear that Steve guess I have been pretty lucky out of the 47 I have hidden only 5 have had to be archived.... of which 3 have came up missing. One just bombed and the other (the quilt) was just over.

I hope the Cache Gods look more favorable on the future caches you hide

Subject: [Az-Geocaching] Rant

"Horseplay" (GC6614) has been archived. I went out to check it this afternoon in response to Frobro Goose's "not found" of the other day. It's gone.

It seems as though few geocachers are willing to brave the heat, but it doesn't even slow down the Visigoths of Cache Plundering. We've placed nine caches in Arizona this year, and have now had to archive four of them. Maybe we just don't know what we're doing when it comes to placement. Maybe it's just bad cache-placing karma. But it doesn't do anything for our motivation to place more.

Say what you may about virtuals, the odds are that if you get to the right place they will be there. I wonder how many more caches we could have found in the time we've spent running down our caches that have gone missing? It may be a long time before we place another cache in the Valley that isn't a virtual.
