I haven't looked at the cache, but I do know the El Camino del Diablo Trail crosses the Air Force Range. You can get access to it by obtaining a permit from among other places Luke Air Force Base and the Marine Corps. You may have to sign an agreement that will hold the military harmless of any dangers you may encounter. So access to some of the Air Force Range is possible and legal.

Subject: [Az-Geocaching] A dangerous cache???

I was planning our trip to San Diego and though we would hit a few easy one's on the way out. I came across "Fortuna in a cache" GC3BBA which appears to me to be on the Barry Goldwater gunnery range? Nothing like being strafed by an A-10 Warthog to add to a bit of geocaching excitement. IF the rest of you concur with the placement being on the range I will e-mail the owner and ask that it be archived and from the list.

Let me know what you think before I make the request to the cache owner.
