I lived in Sitka Alaska for a bit, working for the Forest Service. One of my fondest memories was sitting on a log on the seashore one day, watching a family of merganser ducks. An eagle came out of the trees behind me and dove towards the ducklings. Mama reared up and flapped her wings, chasing the eagle away. It's one thing to see them nesting, but an entirely different thing when they are in predatory mode. I'll be sure to take plenty of fall/winter pictures. Brian Team A.I.
