It's important to remember the facts about manmade forest fires:

They're only started by FIRE FIGHTERS and MORONS!

The forests belong to US. Instead of closing the forests, the Rangers should be more proactive in educating campers and hikers about fire prevention.
The US Forest Service should design, construct, and operate more family-type campgrounds, which would keep more novices out of the virgin forest.
We should demand that public land managers make those lands available somehow, someway, regardless of the 'drought'. 
Camping, Hiking, and Cache-searching are not crimes; nor are they inherently dangerous to the health of the environment.
