Reminds me of my ex-brother-in-law who was killed on his bike about thirty years ago.  He too was one of these bikers who would ride in any lane he felt like riding in.   He was riding along in the middle of a lane, not going the speed limit when someone who didn't see him came up behind him and ran him over.
