Brian, Since you're apparently in the East Valley, here's a thought that might save a little driving time. Take the 101 south to the end. It dumps out on Price Rd. just south of Chandler Blvd. Continue on Price to Queen Creek, and go west on QC. Cross over I-10, and it becomes Maricopa Rd. (SH 347). Head southwest on 347 until you get into the town of Maricopa. At very approximately N 33 03.340 W 112 02.850 you will turn right onto SR 238 and take that into Gila Bend. Then follow the signs to I-8 west. It's the way we usually go to Gila Bend. I think it's more direct than your route. The speed limit's "only" 65, but there is typically very little traffic, especially on 238. It's a pretty drive as well. My son's b-day party on Sat. afternoon is keeping me from driving down that evening to meet up with Lincoln, so I would need to leave early Sunday morning. By highway from my house I estimate it being about 210 miles by taking 60 west to 10 and south on 85 to westbound I8. I'm figuring a little over 4 hours (perhaps a little less with my um, work ID =) ). Is there anyone else leaving from Phoenix early on Sunday that would be interested in meeting up to caravan? I'm looking to find out in the next couple hours so I can run and grab the permit. Brian Team A.I.
