I got my very first cell phone last Friday morning - a Droid from Verizon. I haven't taken it out geocaching yet, but I did download two apps from the Android Market which I intend to try out (OpenGPX and GCDroid) when I can. The Droid has an app market that you can search from its home page and there's also a website with lots of apps at www.androlib.com - I searched for "geocache" and got 17 hits. Not sure which ones would work best, but lots of things to try even if Groundspeak doesn't offer an app for the Android platform. Whichever one you get, you probably want to get one that will load what it needs (other than the GPS signal) before going out into the boonies in case the network is not available. Being such a new machine, there are many things to learn about the Droid and I found a forum at www.droidforums.net that has been quite helpful in figuring out the various features and capabilities and limitations of the Droid.
