Absolutely. I run several different mapsets on my 60Cx. You just need to go to the map screen and make changes to unselect one mapset so another can be selected and visible. It takes moments, and you're done. The one thing you need to do though is select the tiles in MapSource for one mapset, then pick another mapset and select tiles again. This will build the data to be transferred, but there is a total tiles limit that will often become a problem well before you hit the 2GB limit that Garmin units are supposed to handle. On that note, a friend threw a 4GB card into his, and it worked. I believe 2GB is the limit for map data, with the other being available for tracks/waypoints, etc... I have a question about this...is it possible to use this along with the roadmaps? I have MetroGuide v5, but would be willing to use something else (it's old, anyway). Basically what I want is to be able to use roadmaps to drive to the cache, and then the topo maps for the hiking piece of it. I'm sure I'm not the first person to want this, I'm just not sure how to go about it. So far I just use the roadmap and then the compass, but I have had situations where I ended up trying to walk straight across a deep gorge, for example. I have a Garmin 60CSX. -Lisa "PoledraDog" Brian Casteel wrote: > Why not test your GPS with the free mapset for AZ that is available? > > http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/view/1/ > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > -- > *From:* az-geocaching-bounces@listserv.azgeocaching.com > [mailto:az-geocaching-bounces@listserv.azgeocaching.com] *On Behalf Of > *WEBOWITZ@aol.com > *Sent:* Friday, January 30, 2009 11:10 > *To:* az-geocaching@listserv.azgeocaching.com > *Subject:* [Az-Geocaching] Just wondering................. > > *Does anyone have Garmin Mapsource topo that you'd be willing to burn > a copy and share?* *I am trying an experiment with an older Garmin GPS > unit (an oldie but > goldie) and just can't lay out the big bucks for the new CD at this > time.* *If you have it, just email me off list,* > *Thanks,* > *DR Webe* > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > -- > ** ____________________________________________________________ Az-Geocaching mailing list listserv@azgeocaching.com To edit your setting, subscribe or unsubscribe visit: http://listserv.azgeocaching.com/mailman/listinfo/az-geocaching Arizona's Geocaching Resource http://www.azgeocaching.com DISCLAIMER: This message is confidential, intended only for the named recipient(s) and may contain information that is privileged or exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
