I have a lot of reading to do from other e-mails.
However, I have read the information in both e-mails you wrote, ShadowAce.
Both have very good information.
Too bad you can't do a sticky on a listserver...
I did pick up quite a bit of information on the area, including vegetation and wildlife.

My luggage has changed out slightly.
I have a small hydration pack that will be traveling along with me.
I think a case of water in the car would be prudent, as I can use it to refill at any step.
Added a collapsible trekking pole too, so I don't have to stick my hands anywhere I shouldn't. (Duh!)
Threw in a few flashlights to go with my caching name (FloatingSpots), but I'm trying to avoid more scrutiny via the TSB.
GPS, flashlights, CR123As (still legal in carry-ons), and a notebook should already make the screener's head spin.

I'm looking forward to the area, including the touristy areas.
Caves, Titan missiles, and Geocaches all between.

As for when I'll be in town, well, actually I'll be there starting this weekend.
Long story short, my brother moved out following work about a year ago.
Originally, I had another camping / geocaching  / Indiana State park trip planned, but changed plans at the last moment.
Grabbed a last minute reasonably cheap fare and I'm on my way.

I'm in from Saturday (24th)  to Sunday (1st) [Travel Day].
However, my free caching time will mostly be during the work week.
(I assume when most people will be busy...)
I certainly wouldn't mind running into anyone, if they want to do a supper some night or grab a cache in the evening.
Actually, one of the first things I looked for was a local get together, but I wasn't lucky...

Back to packing and trying to remember what I'm forgetting...

Thanks again,
Jon

When will you be in town?

I am more then positive a group of our humble selves would be happy to meet
and greet and offer advice or comfort :) Be advised that we are reaching
record temps at this time of year and if you are planning hikes in the lower
desert you will need to be very cautious of the weather and your ability to
handle the heat.

Feel free to get in touch with me if you are wanting to gather some
information on our area.

Can you get hurt out here?
Welp.. You tell me :)
