During the run we would also like to visit a good Army/Navy surplus store in the valley but we have no idea where they are. Your folks' help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Addresses or better yet waypoints of the locations would help us greatly. We need to pick up some decon containers and are looking for some rain ponchos and other goods that we are unable to acquire up in the high country. I am sure you all have your favorites. Just give us a list and we will hit the one closest to where we end up. All your help is greatly appreciated. We are heading down to the valley on Wednesday and are looking to walk to the cache and pick it up before we head back to the hills. We really need to warm up a bit as winter is normal this year. All we really know is that it is south of the Bush Hwy down a wash complex in the Bulldog Canyon area. We see that there area Jeep trails in the area (using National Geographic AZ TOPO) but we are not bringing the Potbellied_Pig this time, just the family KIA. That is really all we know. So we have questions. The questions: Are there places to park off the Hwy? Do we need some day pass to park like Sedona? Is it typical open desert to the cache? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. We don't even have maps of the area and will be just going by what we have put in our GPSR using our Topo 2008 on our GPSr. Thanks to all for help on the last question we had and to all who will likely help us with this one. This is a great board and a wonderful resource. We appreciated all the desert dwellers giving us a hand like this. -- Just Cache It ! ! ! ==================== Mark, Johnny, & Joaquin flag.mtn.hkrs@gmail.com ==================== ------------------------------ Message: 7 Date: Sun, 16 Mar 2008 12:44:51 -0700 From: "Mark, Johnny, & Joaquin" Subject: Re: [Az-Geocaching] Army Surplus To: listserv@azgeocaching.com Message-ID: <47DD78B3.5020801@gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed AZcachemeister wrote: > That is where I get them! > N33? 24.912 W111? 50.882 should bring you to the front door. > > IamEvilFish wrote: >> The only place I know of is Laradas Extension and Main in Mesa.. >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: az-geocaching-bounces@listserv.azgeocaching.com >> [mailto:az-geocaching-bounces@listserv.azgeocaching.com] On Behalf Of Mark, >> Johnny, & Joaquin >> Sent: Saturday, March 15, 2008 5:27 PM >> To: AZ-Geocaching >> Subject: [Az-Geocaching] Army Surplus >> >> Myself and the boys will be heading down to the PHX area on Wednesday to >> get myself a hat and some boots. Thanks for the coordinates. We appreciate it. I am not to good on all that asphalt and really don't know the mountains to keep myself straight at times.
