Hey all! I know I'm a lurker so I'll be brief. I believe there is more to this story. Why do I say that? Well.. 1. Mt Hood climbers/hikers ... don't have a GPS??? * They just 'accidentally' stumbled on the very thing that would take any of us, in snowy weather, 20 mins to find when we KNOW what to look for?????? 2. Mt Hood climbers/hikers ... have a cell phone?? * If they had a cell phone, couldn't rescuers track the signal? * OR.. was there a cell phone and/or a GPS in the Cache????? * They had a cell phone but didn't know where they were until they 'accidentally' found a Geocache, which as we all know, would have a GC # and probably the LAT/LONG of the cache and rescuers could look it up onllline. I'm just scratching the surface here, I'm sure many of us can see the holes in this story... In addition, a co-worker that I recently introduced to Geocaching makes this observation... "Too bad the story only mentions Geocaching and doesn't explain how it works or what was in the cache..." I don't, in any way mean to demean, the HEROIC efforts of rescuers, or the beauty of our sport. I just have a few questions. :) My $0.02 CACHE ON! I was kind of surprised, but it was also nice to see a great way describe the sport. And yes, I do read it from time to time :-) Sonic Warthog No virus found in this outgoing message.
