12/26/2005 - This cache is now enabled. It survived the Cave Creek Complex fire this past summer without a single ash. All the contents were in pristine condition. The area around the cache did suffer quite a bit of fire damage. The big juniper trees/bushes near the cache are nothing but black skeletons now. Much of the vegetation was burned but it is showing definite signs of recovery. Bushes with charred branches have new growth sprouting from the base. Most of the tall grass, which was there after the winter rains, was burned and is gone. However, the fire did not consume every square inch of the area. There are numerous areas not touched by the fire. I took the old log book since it was getting full and replaced it with a new one. I also added a few goodies to the cache and took two golf balls (they didn’t look too good any more).
