This isn't exactly a caching adventure, but the 'proud papa' moment comes out when I hear about neat stories associated with first steps. I was woke up 4 hours after going to sleep by a panicked wife telling me that a plane struck one of the towers. I wake right up and start watching the coverage, only to see the second plane strike 10 minutes after I turned on the tube. The extent of the emotions felt that day was unbelievable (a very good friend was MIA for awhile, and worked directly across the street from the towers, adding to the emotion). After dinner that evening, I was in our bedroom with Haleigh, and stepped away while she was holding onto the side of the bed. I held out my arms and she took several steps toward me, creating a bright spot in an otherwise tumultuous day. For the rest of the day, she was racing around the house on her feet, and we just sat back and smiled. A little over a year ago, my husby and I took the kids up to Ashurst Lake (outside Flagstaff) to go camping for the weekend in the Roamin' Rednecks' Roamin Home (the "pop up"). We did several - the best one being Pickett Lake cache... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=52c7efb7-3dcc-41e4-af 22-955dce41d9a4&log=y&decrypt= There are pictures by our post...but the lake was almost competely dry, and William got a big kick out of walking across "a lake." BUT - what made it the best was that my daughter stood up all by herself and took two steps on that geocaching trip... What a great way to start her on geocaching...her first steps (towards Mommy, not the cache, but oh well - can't get everything right the first time). It was so exciting!!! Who else has some great caching adventures???
