GCJ8N0 >.......... Travel bugs, in my opinion, are a pain in the a**!!! I have probably past up 6 or 7 travel bugs in the past week or so. I have never returned to a cache I had previously visited for a TB nor have I ever visited a cache for the sole purpose of retrieving a TB. If there happens to be a TB in a cache I am at, I would usually take it and then move it on. But, over the past several months I have found them to be more of a pain than they are worth. For instance, just a couple of months ago I made some TB drops and grabs in the Tucson area while caching. I could not log my finds until I got home the next day. Well, someone picked up one of those TB's that I had dropped off and I didnt have a chance to 'drop it' on the gc.com site. Well, the person that picked it up simply 'grabbed it' from me and then moved it on. I thought this was very rude as I never got to complete my part of the TB's travels. You would think that they would have given me a day or two to complete the action online. I never really cared though but it was a pain in the a** trying to sort the mess out. Now, gc.com allows you to grab it from someone and so forth if someone never did move it on. Although a while back, that wasnt possible and in this situation, you couldnt do anything until the TB was moved by the previous finder (assuming you wanted to maintain continuity in the TB's travels). At any rate, I just dont bother with them anymore. Should someone have to take a travel bug when they come upon one??? I say heck no! Why would I want to get involved with it anymore anyways?! On the subject of taking all the travel bugs in a TB Hotel cache..... I think this is not right. I dont believe TB's are trade items. But, in the case of a TB Hotel cache.... I think the TB's are more like trade items. There should be something to take and leave (since this is the theme of the cache). What would a TB hotel be if there werent any TB's in it?!?! So, taking all the travel bugs out of it is like saying..... "took everything and left nothing"!!!! Anyways, that is my opinion.
