Unfortunately, it MAY be the dirtiest part of the road because of its proximity to the landfill. However, whenever there has been a cleanup, there is a VERY noticeable difference, and the area is clean when we have been through with it. I doubt that it is the dirtiest on a regular basis, because in my time traveling the Beeline, I've never seen another group cleaning anything. As for the median, we aren't allowed to cross the highway and pick up traffic there (unfortunately). This is a safety issue and is not allowed per ADOT. There is also a limitation that we can technically pick up trash along the highway. If I'm not mistaken, it's within 10'. Of course, having to get in/out of vehicles, it's easy to 'violate' this rule without even really thinking about it. Sport Trac/K (sp?) adopted the program and had a clean-up a few months ago, toward the end of the year I believe. It's due for another one, but it would be great if it could be held on CITO Day.
