Yes, everyone is different. I tend to only search for virtuals if they are on the way somewhere. I think the only time a virtual was my reason for going out was because it was a new cache and I didn't want it on my first page of unfound caches. Personally, I feel that virtuals shouldn't block regular caches from being placed. Benchmarks don't, so why virtuals?
