Thank you, Rich J, for the update, it is always good to get accurate information about what is going on. We continue to keep "Mt Lemmon" and all involved in our thoughts and prayers "up" here, while we keep a nervous eye on the S-SW horizon around Prescott! (One more day with my pager staying silent is one more day closer to NOT having a catastrophic fire here as well) Trisha "Lightning" Prescott On Sat, 21 Jun 2003 19:02:54 -0700, "Rich J" wrote: For those that want to know about the Steward Observatory on top of Mt Lemmon. I got a first hand report of conditions up above the Ski Lodge (still standing). The U of A observatory is untouched  _at _this _time.... fire is creeping around from the west.   The communication towers near and right next to the observatory grounds also remain untouched.  The land surrounding this area is quite clear of trees.  There is no scrub vegetation near any of those buildings.   Hopefully, the fire will not get close enough to do any damage to any of the structures.    I was personally up there Tuesday (the day the fire started) all day and can tell you that area is pretty clean.   The report I stated above was gotten this morning from a trip to the communication site by a co-worker of mine.   It is still a major travesty ----  rj4285  Richard
