I saw the same thing yesterday in daylight. Flames from 15 miles away... I was released from court (jury duty) early today, and was able to see something spectacular and terrifying at the same time. When I left the downtown area and was heading east towards my house, the fire looked like it was laying down some. It somehow made me feel a little optimistic. About half way home it looks like it exploded again as the smoke really started climbing again. What really got me was in the middle of the day, in broad daylight, I was able to see flames shooting into the sky. Remember, I am many miles south of the mountain and could still see flames.
