[Az-Geocaching] Missing caches

I feel your pain, Trisha. I've had a cache stolen twice that isn't possible
to be a muggle discovery. For the last several feet, you need to discover
that mountain goat gene in order to get to the cache. It's difficult
finding a path up the 35+ degree incline, and the last 30' you are right up
against a sheer sandstone rock face. That last several feet involve a
'step' that is at its widest, enough for someone to crawl on (you cannot
stand), with literally no legroom right/left (sheer face left, 10' drop
right, with another 30' tumble down the above-mentioned incline just below
that). Anyone going up there has a motive for taking the cache, whether it
be a territorial landowner below, or another cacher with a grudge. There is
another cacher with a cache .1 miles from mine whom I had a disagreement
with over some left-wing extremist related information in the cache that
'may' have something to do with it. Seriously, some of the websites listed
weren't even in the ballpark of normalcy though.

Check this one out, if you're in the mood to be angry. Some of the others,
oddly enough are domains now under suspension, or the fringe links have
either been deleted/buried somewhere else on the site.

<off-topic> When this all came out initially, I was contacted by a
government person seeking information on what I had found in the cache. He
was investigating hate/extremist groups at the time, and happened to be a
cacher who was subscribed to the local mailing list for the group here in
town. I learned some interesting things about some of the groups out there
while chatting with him, especially one town in the state that I should
avoid (hint: Freemen). </off topic>

Subject: [Az-Geocaching] Missing caches

Artemis finally caught up with my procrastination and I had to finish
archiving the 6 (possibly 7) caches that all went missing around
Thanksgiving weekend last year 2005. If anyone is interested, you can read
all about it....I posted detailed and similar notes on each cache, but the
most information (and most enlightening) is on P.V. Park Series No. 2005 No.
FOUR - GCNJ76.

Gee? I guess Prescott Valley has some kind of vortex or black hole? that
swallows up caches - but just mine! No one else had caches go missing like
this, in fact other caches in the area had plenty of finds as it was a
holiday weekend. These were all easy to access, but well-hidden and
well-established. So.....not a coincidence of the muggle variety. It's too
bad that a cache thief not only ruins the effort I put into making nice
hides for others to enjoy, but more importantly ruins the enjoyment for
everyone else.

HEY Prescott cachers! These locations, some of them very nice for caches,
are now available for someone else to place a cache there.
