Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you all know of a situation that has
occurred with GPSexplorer.com . My husband purchased a Garmin 76CS for me
for Christmas from the alleged GPSexplorer.com back in November. Little did
he know that I had already purchased one at a local retailer during the same
week. Naturally, one had to be returned. By the time he received the one
from the online retailer, we had already used the one I purchased, and so we
decided to return the one from the website. Complicated story, I know.

OK, to make a long story short(er), the heart of the matter is this: He
returned the GPS unit to the .com company by Thanksgiving, and despite many
phone calls, has failed to get his refund. It's the same old story that I'm
sure you all know. "I'll forward this information to accounting." or "I'll
be sure to get your request into the right hands." All the BS, no action.
Today was the last straw. They are still giving him the runaround even
though he has now threatened that "his wife will tell every geocacher she
knows."

So this is a warning to all of you to be wary, please, of
GPSexplorer.com. Their
prices are excellent, but in our experience they are not a safe company with
which to do business.

And just for the record, the Garmin 76CS is pretty and full of bells and
whistles, and super-fun to play with, but not any more accurate or effective
than the old Magellan we used. But again, way prettier, and I know the
tide tables everywhere on the continent.

Kristine
