This is a big time can of worms. You really want to make schools better in Arizona? Kick out all the ESl students. Have each school distric have one school that dose nothing but ESL. that way teachers can focus on teaching instead of wasting time trying to teach the same stuff to to one group while the other group dosn't know what your saying. You can not lower your standards to the lowest common denomenator every year and hope your kids are learning anything. you have got to set the bar and raise them up to meet it. They also need to get rid of all the teachers Like the ones I had in High school who couldn't teach or didn't know how to get or keep control of the class or were just waiting for retirement. Also. Kick out the trouble makers. Keeping them in school only makes it harder on everyone else in the class. public school is a privalage. if your kid can't follow the rules or dosn't know how to act, find a private school that will take him or visit him in jai
 l when
he gets older. Don't force the school to keep kinds like that because it just brings things down and the kids that want to learn something can't because their teachers are too busy being baby sitters or translators to actually teach them something. Some of the best teachers I had dodn't take crap from anyone. If they couldn't keep a student in line, they got them out of the class and down to the office so someone else could deal with them. These people are teachers. they are not parole officers, not baby sitters, not your parents. If you didn't teach your kid how to act in public, don't expect them to tolerate your kid for acting up or disrupting their class.

Why are Arizona schools the best? because the people doing the compairing are from places like Mexico or some place in South America where the schools suck worse than they do here.

Loran,

Why are the schools better where you live? Do you think it is because with cold, dreary weather,
people stay inside to work harder and study more? Because of our great weather and scenery, we
here in Arizona have a lot of distractions that may make us less productive in academic and
working pursuits.

If the schools are truly better in Arizona, what could we in Arizona do to make our schools the
best in the USA?

What do your kids think? Do they prefer living in Arizona or Michigan? If I was a kid again, I
would much rather be living in Arizona than Michigan, because I would be able to have a lot more
fun as a kid enjoying the warm weather and outdoor sports and recreational opportunities of
Arizona.

However, if the schools in Arizona are a lot worse than they are in other parts of the USA, why
does it appear that so many families with children are moving to Arizona from other parts of the
USA?
