[Az-Geocaching] Charter Membership question

Well, the $3/month isn't really a back-breaker for supporting the site
either.

To answer your questions Scott, I'll start in order:

1. Yes/No. It's not the same format that PalmReader can use (.pdb) files,
but you can get them in either .gpx (with all cache info and can be
formatted in a really cool way), or .loc files with just the waypoint info
(cache name, GC#, coords). If you get the .gpx file, you can use a program
like gpx2html, which takes the information and converts it to a web page
type layout, with the decrypted clue built in, as well as the closest 5
caches to each cache you visit, including direction/mileage. Then you use
Plucker to download the info to your PDA and use it to read the information.
You also cannot get instant 'packages' of information like you can with
azgeocaching. There is a slight delay, and you'd have to delete re-create a
PQ to get different information if you've already used up the 5 available.
I wouldn't use the eBook format and would stay away from Mobi at all costs.
PalmReader is much better, but the gpx2html/Plucker combo is excellent as
well. Another great program written by a Geocacher which will help you
tailor the .gpx file is Watcher. The formatting of information is very
intuitive and I enjoy using it.

2. You can use EasyMPS to open .loc files directly into MapSource, even
using it to convert waypoint icons to Geocache icons on-the-fly. When
creating a PQ, you can specify area by Country/State/Zip/Code/Coords, as
well as the distance from the specified location. You also have the option
of choosing the levels of difficulty you wish to seek out.
