For those of who haven't yet become "Charter Members", there's going to be a
new section on geocaching.com dealing with benchmarks.

They (Jeremy & co.) have imported the entire USGS benchmark database and
have created an new type of pseudo-cache for each one. You can search by
zip code, marker ID or Lat/Lon and it returns all the markers within 10
miles. Each 'cache' page contains the same data as you would find on the
NGS webpage, such as name (designation), location (obviously), type of
marker (disks, rods and even nails and rivets) and the official history of
the marker. You can log finds, not finds, notes, upload photos, etc.

It is still in testing, and therefore only available to members, but it has
been said by Jeremy that it will be available to all as soon as the kinks
are worked out.

He also mentioned that bulk downloading of cache data and e-Book format
("palmable" format), as well as in-depth searches, will be added and will be
exclusive to Charter Members. Looks like azgeocaching.com beat them to the
punch with those features! Once again, Team Snaptek rocks!
