We came in from Strawberry. I guess there is a way in from Camp Verde but
the cache description doesn't give any details about how to approach the
area. We made it to the campground where it was a 1-mile hike to the cache.
Just ran out of daylight, patience, and sanity after that white knuckle
drive down into the canyon.

Just woundering what side you came in from.... I don't remenber the hot
springs being that hard to get to... I do know there are sever ways to get
there... I know they are long drives but short walks

This cache is extremely under rated. It's rated as a 1.5 for both
difficulty and terrain. To anyone that has traveled the Old Apache Trail,
this is at least 5 times worse. This is a 40 round trip even though the GPS
says the cache in only 12 miles away. The road is extremely narrow and
rough. To top that off the cache is a mile hike once and if you make it
down to the river. You are also required to wade knee-deep through the
river to the other side. Do not attempt this cache with a low clearance
vehicle. 4WD is not required but I'd highly recommend it. Allow yourself
at least 3-4 hours to get this one. I doubt we'll be trying this one again
anytime soon.
